Why are you putting the remittance advice out on the web?
Many Commonwealth employees and retirees came to us saying that the internet has been a significant time saver, and asked to have payroll and retirement remittance advices online. PayInfo is secure, convenient and accessible 24x7 wherever you are in the world with an Internet connection. We also know that it will save the environment, money, and time in both printing and distribution.

What information is on the electronic remittance advice?
You will see the same information currently on your remittance advice except for your bank account routing numbers which are not provided in PayInfo.

Do we get our Direct Deposit transferred into our account earlier than it is right now?
No, there will be no change to when funds are deposited in your account.

What if I need access to a previous pay remittance?
Remittance advices are available for 36 months on PayInfo and Retiree PayInfo.
If you are a current employee your payroll director can print advices if you need older data. If you are a retiree of the State Board of Retirement, contact the Board for information from older remittance advices. Currently, the State Board of Retirement is unable to print out older advices.

Who has the rights/capability of seeing my online payroll remittance advice?
The only person that will be able to see your online payroll remittance advice is you or someone with whom you’ve shared your ID and password.

Can I print my payroll remittance advice?
Yes, you can print your payroll remittance advice from your web browser. You may need to adjust print margins. If you are printing at the work location, remember that it will be at the printer until you retrieve it. See the instructions for adjusting the print margins.

Are there specific browser requirements that I must have?
Commonwealth of Mass. PC configuration supports PayInfo. For local or off-site access, your browser must be a current version (i.e., Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla) with 128-bit encryption with the security setting of "cookies enabled". If your browser doesn't have 128-bit encryption, you will need to install a more recent version (available on your browser's website). PayInfo will not work if the browser is not properly set up. For cookies enabled, change the security setting on your browser to activate the "cookies enabled" setting or "allow per session cookies". These are required to assure all data is encrypted during transmission.

Can I change my password?
The system will prompt you to change the default password when you initially log in. You will also be able to change your password whenever you feel necessary.

What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, notify your PayInfo Administrator during normal business hours. Your password will be reset to the default password.
• Current employees: The payroll administrator is usually your Security Officer or Payroll Director. Go to the PayInfo Adminstrator list if you don’t know who the PayInfo Administrator is in your department.
• Retirees: The State Board of Retirement resets passwords for retirees. If you are a Retiree, the number to call is (617) 367-7770 ext. 858 or 1-(800) 392-6014 ext. 858 (within MA only) Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Is it required to view a payroll remittance advice online?
While you may currently receive a paper remittance advice, the goal is to eliminate the paper and rely on the PayInfo application.

How do I stop the printing and distribution of my remittance advice?
Click the Go Paperless Now button on the Welcome to PayInfo! Page. If you are currently receiving a paper check, contact your Payroll director or the State Retirement Board to sign up for Direct Deposit and to request that your remittance advice not be printed.

I would like to save a copy of my remittance advice without printing it. How do I do that?
Remittance advices can be saved electronically using either the Microsoft Office Document Writer or Adobe PDF converter. In either case, first open your advice in PayInfo, then follow either of the series of steps below.
• To use Microsoft, select File > Print > Microsoft Document Image Writer, then click Print. Choose a folder to save to, and click OK.
• To use Adobe, select File > Print > Adobe PDF > Print. Select a folder to save the file to and click OK.
